Handwriting! Mechanics! Creativity! Oh My!

I am tired! Are you tired?
With 6,000 things pulling at you at this time of the year, it is nice to have something simple!
On most mornings, my class completes these as their morning work. They. Are. Simple! I don't know about you, but I need simple right now.
Even though they are simple, I love how the students make them their own.
Each morning we have an opportunity to reinforce concepts around print! Clearly, this was Santa in his younger years... before the weight gain and white hair.
We reinforce making our tall letters tall and our short letters short.
We talk about punctuation! This elf looks like I feel.
I love this little elf's face!
And we talk about making sure our illustrations include a setting.
Read, Trace, Glue, Draw products were one of the first things I created for TpT and I still love using them. My class does not need any help reading the sentences and it provides a predictable activity that is meaningful.
You can find just about every theme of Read, Trace, Glue, Draw units HERE.
