Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Review

It's been a while since I reviewed a beauty product, and it's because it's also been a while since I bought make-up! I bought this foundation a few days before I went to the Philippines (where it's pretty much summer all year round!) I searched for foundations that is suitable for oily skin and can withstand humidity and heat.
Lancome's Teint Idole Ultra 24H caught my attention because of its name. I was searching for something that can last the whole day and based on the reviews and what it claims to do, I decided to buy it.
Shade: This foundation comes in 28 shades so there's a big chance that you can get your perfect match. You can see the shades here but I would strongly recommend that you drop by to a Lancome store and have a MUA assist you.
Packaging: The bottle is pretty similar to Dior Forever's foundation. It's easy to pump and you can control the amount of product that you wanna use. In short, nothing's wasted!
Consistency: This foundation is often compared with Estee Lauder's Double Wear (ELDW), and this is where you can point out the ultimate difference. ELDW is quite thick compared to most foundations, while Lancome's 24H is thinner and much easier to blend. As someone who already used up a bottle of ELDW, I prefer Lancome's 24H because it feels weightless on my face!
Coverage: Medium to full coverage, depends on how much you apply. I prefer a quite natural look so I just apply one layer but you can build it up if you wish. And no, it does not cake!
Application: I use my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to apply this foundation with a primer. It goes on smoothly and creates an airbrush effect if applied correctly (use a moisturiser first and let it dry for about 10 minutes before the primer!) It looks much more natural compared to ELDW which is a total plus points for me.
How was it? When I was in Manila, the temperature went up to 30 degrees C (86 F) and humidity was really high. I'm afraid that the foundation could not really stand the heat, my face was already oily before noon. However; when I got back to NZ, the foundation lasts all day and my face wasn't really that oily. It's still summer here in NZ so I think the foundation still does a great job.
Final verdict: So if you live in a tropical country, then this isn't for you. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this foundation! It's weightless, cheaper than other high-end foundations (NZD$72), and lasts all day.
