Shade – As the name suggests, one would expect Shiseido Perfect Rouge Glowing Matte lipstick RD325 to be a coral matte lipstick. Not so. On my lips this definitely looks more red than coral. An orangish red, but clearly in the red family and nowhere close to coral. About the name, yes it does not look too creamy but that’s where the matte description ends. It does have a glow and looks like a cream lipstick with a slightly matte finish.
Pigmentation – The colour pay off of Shiseido Perfect Rouge Glowing Matte lipstick RD325 is great. I love the way the lipstick glides on to deliver a full finish. You can add intensity by increasing the number of layers, but there is not much change in the overall colour and look.
Formula and texture – This is the great bit about Shiseido Perfect Rouge Glowing Matte lipstick RD325 - it glides on and is completely soft and creamy. It is very lightweight and I don’t feel like I’m wearing anything on my lips. Being matte it does not dry out the lips and does not sink into fine lines or feather at all. The quality is truly top notch. There is no flaking or peeling of the colour either. I have noticed that in some really matte lipsticks, the colour does start to peel from the corners of the lips. Not so in this case, but one would expect no different from a high end Japanese brand.
Packaging – Shiseido Perfect Rouge Glowing Matte lipstick RD325 comes comes in a sleek metallic black case that clicks shut. I love the design of this case, really looks and feels luxurious.

A rather nice lipstick – but if you are looking for a true matte, keep looking. Shiseido Perfect Rouge Glowing Matte lipstick RD325 is also a little higher on the price scale to not deliver what is promised. However if you just judge the lipstick on its own merits, it is pretty great.
