12 Days of Christmas & 5 Golden Rings (House on the Way)

Today’s a big day. It’s my birthday!

Let’s not discuss the number, but relish on the fact that today is my special day. There won’t be balloons or even a cake, but it’s my day…and I’ll take it…

I’m also participating in the 12 Days of Christmas with a group of amazing bloggers. Each day this week, we are celebrating with crafts, projects and decor that represent the twelve days of Christmas. They aren’t necessarily a literal interpretation. Some of us have created something using our own interpretation of each day. Take a peek and you’ll see what I’m talking about…

On Monday, we had “a partridge in a pear tree” and “two turtle doves.” Yesterday was “three french hens” and “four calling birds.” Today, I’m sharing my interpretation of “5 golden rings.”

Okay…so they’re not really golden…

But since I’m not using gold in my Christmas decor this year, I decided to create 5 Pearly Rings…close enough.

Using white pearl floral picks and my black and white striped ribbon, I created the adorable rings to highlight the white plates that I’ve used to decorate my Welsh Cabinet.

For each ring, I took two floral picks and literally twisted them together, end to end. I sized them to fit in the center of my plates.

The ribbon was cut into 6″ strips. I looped them through the ring, stapled the ends together and taped them to the back of the plate.

Once I had my 5 rings finished, I filled my Welsh Cabinet with some of my favorite vintage pieces and greenery. I also added some black and silver ornaments throughout the arrangement.

I’m enjoying my black, white and burlap decorations that I’ve chosen to use this year. They work so well with my vintage pieces and I love the simple style. My “5 golden rings” add a fabulous touch to my solid white dishes and the look is gorgeous on my cabinet.
