2013: A Space Odyssey | Top 12 Shoes of 2012

Although I have not seen flying cars or cities that come straight out of an episode of The Jetsons I have witnessed 2012 as a very innovative year in terms of technology and um... fashion. From Nike releasing shoes designed to resemble Marty McFly's from the 1989 movie Back to The Future to auction off for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's until the end of 2012, Alexander Wang's 2012 glow in the dark phenomenon at fashion week, to the excessive amounts of tech accessories put out by a wide selection of designers, the future is coming pretty fast.
I found myself adding one specific pattern into the checkout carts of my favorite online retailers on my iPad night after night. The galaxy. Trends come and go, and you must always keep a firm mouse cursor when almost falling into them, however it is quite hard to stand against one of mother nature's best pieces of art. While some of this type of pattern is more intense than others, you can find it on leggings, pants, tanks, to almost anything and it will still stand true. After purchasing a pair of galaxy pants I got stopped on the street frequently about them. Most likely a skirt or dress full of stars will be my next purchase and it will also be probable that I will be carrying it with me into 2013, or to infinity & beyond.

The world took a turn when Isabel Marant released her ever so popular "sneaker wedge", bringing a new realm of sportswear to get it.. "high" fashion. Not only does it look futuristic but now you can find this style of sneaker on the soles of commuters to party goers, and not to mention in every window in Soho.
Below I have complied a list of my favorite shoes of 2012 because the shoe game among designers not only is the most intense in fashion, but it has to be the most wanted.

TOP 12 SHOES OF 2012

1 | The Chanel Crystal Heel There is most certainly no reason to explain why this was my number one pick.. just look at it.

2 | The Louboutin Cap Toe Pump As recently mentioned before on my blog for my minor infatuation with transparent things, I was enthralled to see the cap-toe style executed on a clear pump. Now your feet can be naked in a sexy way. Props to Beyonce for wearing them courtside.

3 | The Strappy Studded Valentino Heel You know when you have your eye on a shoe for quite some while, and you die a little bit on the inside every time you see it on the red carpet (cough EMMA STONE cough), or in a department store (BLOOMIES PLEASE NO MORE), Yes, this is that shoe. I am almost so close to selling my soul for it.
4 | The Marc Jacobs Pilgrim Revival Boot Oh Marc, your craziness has once again been approved in my book. Your kilt wearing a$$ is now perfectly matched with these guys on your feet. Not only did they give a shocking debut on the runway, they soon snuck their way into the best editorial spreads of the year.

5 | The Balenciaga Buckle Boot Is this the solution to being able to wear boots during the summer? I can only hope. I absolutely love the idea of the cut out boot, and the more hard wear, the better.

6 | The Isabel Marant Sneaker Wedge PLEASE SEE ABOVE FOR DESCRIPTION & GET THESE ON MY FEET NOW.

7 | The Asos Minimalist Strap Heel Simple & elegant. The style of the two strap heel has comeback strong. I found myself wearing it even casually with jeans.
8 | The Maebird Oxford by Rachel Antonoff for Bass Okay, so you've figured me out by now.
9 | The Opening Ceremony Chelsea Boot One of the most wanted style of boots this year was The Chelsea. I was quite fond of this one from Opening Ceremony.

10 | The Celine Chunky Buckle Strap Heel There was another comeback for heels, and oh my were they thick. This heel by Celine not only has vintage flair, but it is quite the looker with a huge buckle ankle strap.

11 | The Pistol Ankle Boot by Acne
Amongst The Chelsea boot was also another ankle boot craze. One that contained a short heel. The Pistol Boot by Acne seemed to be replicated and repeated amongst other brands, however in a stand off the Pistol was the clear winner. Bang.

12 | Chanel Espadrilles
Beginning with Chanel, and ending with it. Who would of ever thought the classic and highly elegant brand would go on vacation? I was thrilled to see these in all different types of colors, something daring but ever so relaxing.

I hope you enjoyed my little shoe obsession & reading my blog in general. It's been a wonderful year and I am beyond excited to write about what will be coming in 2013! Thank you lovelies.
xx Kelly
