sweet sips: apple cider sangria

Fun fact: it takes thirty-seven apples to make a container of apple cider. And it only takes a little cider, some white wine, brandy orange liqueur, and a few garnishes to make this delicious apple cider sangria. It’s perfect for fall weekends and is a fun spin on your traditional sangria. This recipe calls for ginger syrup which can easily be made by following these directions. We’ve made our own before but we also keep a store bought bottle on hand. It’s great to use for fun cocktails and certain desserts!

Apple Cider Sangria:

  • 1 standard size bottle of pino grigio
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur
  • 2 tlbs ginger syrup (you could also use a little ginger ale if you don’t have this on hand)
  • 1/2 cup club soda
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 2 apples, chopped
  • 2 pears, chopped
  • Garnishes: cinnamon, pomegranate seeds, cloves

Add the apples and pears to a large pitcher. Add in your wine, apple ciders and all your liquors. Let it sit for at least one hour but it can sit together overnight if needed. Top off with the club soda. If you are using ginger ale instead of ginger syrup add that right before serving. Garnish with a few cloves, pom. seeds, and cinnamon. Enjoy!
