ATTN: if you have severely chapped lips- read this now.

I don't usually post a ton of beauty content on here but I have to tell you all about Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask- this is a life changer for me. Seriously. And I decided to share it incase someone else is desperately in need of help like I was.

For the last 2 months I have had severely chapped lips (not the good kind). It might not sound that bad but I'm talking painful, cracked, dry lips that have about doubled in size because of the red irritated skin surrounding them. I've tried everything under the sun. You name it, I've tried it. Chapstick, eos, Carmex, coconut oil, Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream (loved but didn't cure), and Aquaphor which I thought was going to be my miracle cure but unfortunately only provided temporary relief.

Long story short, I was at Sephora the other day where my lips looked particularly scary (their lights are so bright!!!) when one of the ladies (without me asking, I might add. that's how bad they are) suggested I try Bite Beauty's Agave Lip Mask. I wasn't totally sold because at $26, I really didn't want a glorified chapstick to add to my ever growing collection of lip products. I glanced in the mirror again and decided in a desperate moment, I would try just about anything at this point.

It was the miracle cure I've been looking for. It has a very faint sweet smell and taste that fade a few minutes after application. It's sticky and thick which allows the mask to stay put, no migrating off of your lips and stays on for a long time if you can keep yourself from licking it off. It contains lanolin and jojoba oil which are the healing/moisturizing agents.

After wearing it for a few hours, my lips were already starting to look normal again. I piled on quite a bit before bed Saturday night and I'm happy to report my lips are 95% normal, besides the healing the surrounding skin still needs to do. I may finally be able to wear lipstick again this week!

This product is well worth the $26 because a little goes a long way, it will last a long time and because it is a miracle cure for severely chapped lips. The only downside is that the mask comes in a metal squeeze tube. It looks nice and has a good feel but I have found past experiences that these metal tubes tend to crack allowing the product to seep out. I haven't experienced this yet with the lip mask and I'm really hoping I don't but if it does I'll let you know.

What are your go to cold weather products? I'm collecting quite the arsenal of moisturizing products because for some reason this year I am so dry.

*so I drafted this post Sunday, it is now Tuesday morning and I would dare to say my lips are completely healed, including the irritated skin surrounding them. I am still keeping them moisturized and wearing the lip mask at night.

ps- sometimes I struggled with things to say on here, who would have thought I could talk so long about lip balm?
