Six Thanksgiving Books for Kids to Read

Reading holiday books is fun, but I find it a little hard to find good Thanksgiving ones. We like to have a little funny mixed in with our giving of thanks, so we’re going to try reading these stories:

Pinkalicious: Thanksgiving Helper by Victoria Kann might be fun to read. We liked the original Pinkalicious book. Plus this has a unicorn on the cover, so there’s that.
Junie B. First Grader: Turkeys We Have Loved and Eaten (and Other Thankful Stuff) by Barbara Park should be good for a laugh. We find Junie B. to be fast reading books, and full of funny antics the kids get a kick out of.
Calendar Mysteries #11: November Night by Ron Roy looks interesting. We’ve never read the Calendar Mysteries series, but my kids really like mystery stories, so this might be a whole new set of books for us.
Thanksgiving Mice! by Bethany Roberts looks cute. And that’s all I know. Yeah, we’re really just guessing with this list, but cute illustrations are always fun to look at no matter what, right?
I can see Funny Thanksgiving Tongue Twisters by Riley Weber being a big hit at our house. It’s fun for the kids, but mostly it’ll be great because I kind of kick butt at tongue twisters.
Turkey Trouble by Wendi Silvano looks funny because the turkey is trying to get out of being dinner. But if the book ends up with him as a meal I’m going to have a seriously sad 6 year old on my hands.

So I guess we’ll see if any of these books are good…. My kids are pretty open to all types of stories, so we’re probably going to be ok.
