Lily Aldridge Names Her Fashion Designs After Friends

American Victoria’s Secret model Lily Aldridge recently launched her latest collection in collaboration with Velvet by Graham & Spencer and has commented that she often names her designs after friends. She hopes to send each person the piece she named after them when the collection launches and can’t wait until she sees how they react. She also has some items ready to wear to events:

”I already have a few events where I know I’m going to wear it to and I’m going to send it to my friends. You know, I named things after people and I can’t wait for everyone I’ve made it for to get their piece.”

Lily also gushes about her friend Vanessa Traina’s style. She thinks Vanessa always looks “classic and elegant” and she has always envied her wardrobe – she even used to borrow from her when they were teenagers:

”She’s got such great style. Very classic and elegant. We met through friends in LA a very long time ago and we’ve been friends forever. I used to steal things from her wardrobe when we were teenagers!”

Speaking on her design inspiration, Lily says she sources her ideas from street style and what she would like to wear for the season ahead personally. She also loves to observe what “chic older women” are wearing because she is wowed by their sophistication:

“Everything I designed for this collection is stuff I want to wear for spring. I get inspired by things I see on the streets or what my friends are wearing. I also love going uptown in New York and seeing chic older women – that doesn’t really go with this collection, but it’s great for inspiration in general.”
