Kerry Washington is Launching a ‘Scandal’ Inspired Fashion Collection

Taking inspiration from the smart suits and crisply tailored ensembles she wears on hit tv show ‘Scandal’, actress Kerry Washington is teaming up with The Limited to help add some of her character Olivia Pope’s style to a new clothing collection inspired by the tv show. Working with the company’s head designer, Eliot Staples, Kerry comments that those who are fans of her fashion sense on the show will now be able to get the look for an affordable price:

”People who love the look of the show can now step into this world in a way that is affordable and accessible because not everybody can afford to have the clothes they see on the show. It’s been really fun to have a voice at every stage of the production from picking buttons, choosing fabrics and weighing in on hair and makeup people.”

The collection will be quite extensive, featuring 42 pieces and ranging from $49 up to $248. It will be available to shop in 250 The Limited stores and the company’s website from late September onwards. Diane Ellis, The Limited’s chief executive officer, commented that Kerry’s character on the show is someone who is elegant yet powerful and she believes people want to get that look:

”Her character represents a confident, powerful, but real and kind of vulnerable woman. Our sophisticated professional can really relate to that. She’s dealing with crisis, scandal and a life that is very complex and challenging, not maybe to the extent (as Olivia) … The appeal is at the same time she always looks fabulous.”
