Kick up Your Wedding China - Seasonal Sundays # 193

As major holidays approach, such as Easter or Passover, many start to think of how they will entertain. It’s time to bring out your wedding china and kick it up a notch.

Last Easter’s table was an update of a set of my mom’s china which you can view HERE

. Recently my friend Tina was hosting a luncheon and wanted to put a new spin on her wedding china.

Tina has a beautiful classic set of Royal Doulton Princeton.

Traditionally she would have set the table with a white linen tablecloth and napkins. Changing the color of the linens created a lot of impact.

Adding the mesh runner provided interest and texture.

Her gorgeous Waterford glimmered while…

…a new napkin ring added a touch of whimsy.

Continuing to add interest…

…we used candlestick holders of varying heights. We also used candlesticks of color, not white or cream. We “shopped the house” and found these candlesticks in Tina’s living room. At first there was concern as the plates are a true white whereas the candlestick holders are Lenox cream but everything blended beautifully.

Rather than a traditional centerpiece of cut flowers, a matching bowl was filled with a combination of natural and manmade elements.

Her sideboard typically held an array of décor that rarely varied. We changed it out and set up the dessert service…

…which perfectly complimented the table.

Adding a little treat that coordinated with the color scheme was the final touch to kicking up Tina’s traditional china. It’s easy to apply these tips to any season.
