- Child's Masterpiece (make sure it is relatively flat, nothing too bumpy, it will be too lumpy when it gets laminated)
- 1 sheet of decorative paper (origami paper, scrapbook paper, construction paper, etc)
- 1 self-adhesive laminating pouch (found in the office supply store or stationery aisle)
- Scissors (Help younger kids with this part)
- Yarn
- Hole Punch
Sandwich the art and the construction paper together...I cut it about a half inch wider than the art to make it look like a frame,
Laminate...each brand is a bit different, follow the instructions for your particular brand. Be sure to work slowly and smooth out any bubbles. You can use a card from your wallet as a tool to get the bubbles out. Trim the edges as shown, leaving the top a bit wider than the other sides...this is where we will put the tassel.
Using a hole punch (or you can cut a little slit with the scissors), make an opening in the plastic laminated edge. Cut a length of yarn as shown below, about 12 to 14 inches long. We used a couple strands of different colors to make it extra snazzy.
Make a loop as shown below,
Pull the yarn through the loop,
Cut any excess away, and you're all finished!
Now grab a great book and enjoy! These make wonderful gifts too!
