diy fringe bikini

The inspiration for this DIY comes from this bikini top by L*Space. Adding some fringe to your bikini top is a fun way to give it a makeover.

Supplies
  • String bikini (here's a top and bottom for $4.80/each)
  • Nylon/spandex fabric (I buy my swimwear fabric from here. They have a huge selection)
  • Needle & thread (if you're working by hand) or sewing machine
  • Sharp scissors

(Using your bikini top as a guide, cut out a triangle to make the fringe. Make the bottom approximately 3 inches longer than the original. Using this new triangle as a guide, cut out another for the other side of the top)

(Cut small sections from the bottom up to create the fringe. Leave a 1/4 inch section down the right side uncut)

(Sew the fringe on top of the original bikini down the right side only (where you left the fabric intact). Repeat on the other side)
