diy fringe leather clutch

(dress: See by Chloe (similar))
It's no secret that I love fringe, especially on handbags! I came across this red leather jacket at a thrift store recently and I knew it was destined to be a bag.
Supplies-
  • Leather 1/4 yard
  • Heavy duty interfacing
  • Zipper (10 inch)
  • Cotton 1/4 yard

(Cut the leather into rectangles that measure 8 X 11 inches. Attach the interfacing to the wrong sides)

(Stitch the sides together at the bottom)

(Cut the leather fringe approximately 8 inches long. Sew in between the sides of the bag)

(Turn bag right side out)

(Cut the cotton into rectangles that measure 8 X 11 inches. Attach the interfacing to the wrong sides. Sew together a the bottom and sides)

(Take a piece of leather that's 8 inches long, fold over the edges and sew down. This will be the wrist strap)

(Sew the wrist strap at the edge of the bag. Sew the zipper to the leather first and then hand sew the lining to the zipper)
