Season Of The Witch

I wasn’t planning on doing any Halloween looks this year.. in truth I’m not awesome at them so although they’re fun to do I never feel like I’m really passing on anything useful other than ‘here’s what I did’. Instead of a traditional how to here’s my my attempt at recreating a look as challenged by Fragrance Direct. Here’s the original ‘Urban Witch’

I didn’t want to create a carbon copy so I went a little easier on the eyes but I had a go at contouring (with a brow palette so given that I don’t think it’s too shabby) but I used it as my general inspiration.

What I Used..

Revlon Colorstay Foundation / W7 Brow Bar / Revolution Give Them Nightmares Palette / L’Oreal Superliner Gel in Viloet Black / Maybelline Colossal Volume Mascara / Revolution Make It Right Lipstick / Revolution Magnificent Lipstick

The above is the look in stages.. the biggest boo boo I made was some bizarre attempt at contouring around my mouth.. I was kind of going for a bold highlighted cheek as don’t have super strong natural bone structure but it ended up a little odd.. live and learn. I loved the eyes, I’d probably wear the look on a daily basis as I like a pop of colour and the lipstick is not one I would have reached for but now I’ve seen it on I just might. I wore the darker colour around the outside and the lighter metallic colour in the inside to add some dimension. Lastly the L’Oreal eyeiner is AMAZING!! I had it on my wishlist after trying the Illamasqua one and being disappointed, the L’Oreal seemed to have the best reviews for the price. I would never have picked up Violet Black necessarily but it’s just a black colour with flecks of purple glitter and it’s half the price of the regular black so if you’re looking to save some cash I’d highly recommend it. And for those of you wondering – no the glitter isn’t a b*tch to remove, in fact the first time I wore it I didn’t even know it was there so unlike any other glitter product it wont be around for days on your cheeks etc.

Although this is a Halloween look it’s definitely something you could adapt for a night out etc.. less of the spooky (read: crazy) contouring and brows and you’re good to go.

Are you dressing up this year? How will you be wearing your makeup?
