Ok, I could easily whip up a very cool outfit, take some flattering photos, head somewhere glamorous and try to make you jealous with how awesome my life is. But I won’t and I’m not.
To be perfectly honest, I love Melbourne Cup Day. I love the fashion, I love the horses and I love the excitement but I don’t love spending hours getting ready, spending too much money on horses and champagne, sore feet, and then rushing to school pick up as soon as the race finishes.
No, today I am doing what I really love doing. Putting on something pretty and comfortable, stopping by the TAB for the only bet I make during the year, then heading to a family BBQ, sitting outside with people I love, listening to the gentle waves across the road and the TV buzzing in the background.
I’m wearing a new season dress from Bohemian Traders. I made it dressier by tying a knot in the front. This creates a waist and makes it a little shorter but also brings it down a little to show off more cleavage. I’m wearing it with a super old, cheap gold fascinator, my beloved tan wedges and a tan clutch.
What are you doing for Melbourne Cup day? And what are you wearing?
PS: here is a quick little video demonstrating how I tied the dress
