Daily Style: Dressing up Shorts

I hate shorts. I mean really hate but I hate my thighs more and shorts are not kind to them. In fact, they are kind of an arsehole to them.

I had a meeting in town yesterday. It was hot, I had to travel, walk, sit, talk, nod and frown. I found these long forgotten Jacqui E shorts in the back of my wardrobe. I flicked off a spider, dusted them off and decided to give them a whirl.

These shorts are acceptable to me, because they hit my knees. If they were any shorter they would never have made it into my house. You can find similar shorts here.

I teamed the shorts with an white shirt from Metalicus (sold out). The slim shorts works well with the oversized top. I left it untucked to balance out the structure of the shorts and shirt. Then I needed to add a little femininity with a pair of heels. These are from Wittner and currently reduced to $49 on their site (you can find them here). I love B&W but often add a little colour to avoid being mistaken for a waiter … or David Jones staff. I added this hot pink Il Tutto clutch * with a matching lippy for the pop of colour.
