Penguin Power

Working in advertising I make it a point to watch ad spots (commercials) that gain media attention whether they were created by my agency, a sister agency, or a competitor – it is always good to know what is out there! One ad from the British department store John Lewis was covered in almost every major industry publication last week with headlines like “John Lewis May Have Already Won Christmas With Its Adorable Penguin Ad” and “This adorable Christmas ad starring a boy and his penguin might make you teary”. I agree, it is adorable:

This adorable spotad got me thinking about penguins. I saw a woman on the Subway on Monday looking incredibly chic in a penguin sweater, which I did not think was even possible. And as outgoing and talkative as I am, speaking with strangers on the way to work is not something I am comfortable with so I went home and Googled instead. I can not find the exact one she was waring but these six penguin sweaters sure are cute:
