Valentine ideas for boys

It’s find-a-cute-but-not-too-cute-Valentine round one. Having a kindergarten boy apparently means that I have a whole new set of rules to follow. We are working on a compromise between Valentine cards that do not contain any mention of bodily functions and something short and sweet, casually mentioning he’s not ready for marriage to his current six year-old crush.

Our conversations have gone something like this:

“I know! How about we get a different prize for everyone in my class!”

“That’s very sweet honey but Mommy and Daddy didn’t create a Valentine’s Day spending account when you were born.”

And this:

“Can I pass out these and have everyone give them back?”

“Oh I bet everyone would love your used super heroes but giving them something and then asking for it right back might not work.”

“Do you know how to snap your fingers Mom? I can’t snap my fingers.” **slithers under three inch space between table and chair holding tight to ten gazillion super hero toys that he almost parted with for 30 seconds leaving me a four year-old running by**

After many, many more stimulating conversations that I won’t share since you might already been asleep I decided to see what we could come up with on our own. We decided on a combination of the cute, sweet little preschool Valentine of yesterday and the rough, tough kindergartener that is never without dress up clothes of today.

With a little help from Pear Tree Greetings Valentine’s Day photo cards we made something fun that took way less effort than anyone will ever guess.

(back- I was able to make a back this year because I used Pear Tree Greeting’s fancy options)

Pear Tree has a huge selection of kids Valentine’s Day cards and they are really affordable. I think we might do the Valentine coloring page for Sawyer since he’s not big on cooperating for a picture and McKenna is planning to try out a photo booth design.

To make your Valentine card decisions much easier, I’m partnering with Pear Tree Greetings to offer $50 to spend on their site! You could buy Valentines and decorations and cards and more and more and more.

There’s lots of ways to win and this giveaway will be a quick one (ends February 1) so you can get your cards made and delivered in time for the big day.
