Chocolatey Christmas Trees

“I wrote this post as part of a paid campaign with Dollar Tree and Blueprint Social. The original ideas and opinions in this post are my own.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! As soon as Thanksgiving is over, our house and our focus shifts right to Christmas. I put the finishing touches on our Christmas countdown, find a good hiding spot for the gifts, and get creative in the kitchen! But with all of this excitement and novelty of the Christmas season, I need to remind myself that simple is also impressive~even when it comes to food.

Today I want to share with you these super cute Chocolatey Christmas Trees that I saw on Dollar Tree’s Value Seekers Club website. My kids loved them, and they were so easy!

Since I found the recipe at the Value Seekers Club, I naturally stopped at Dollar Tree to pick up the ingredients I didn’t already have on hand. Before I go to a larger store, I stop at Dollar Tree to see what ingredients or craft supplies I can get~since everything is just a dollar! One thing I really love about their candy selection is that they have all my favorite brands~and they come in a bit smaller packages. Perfect for getting just the right amount of ingredients and putting together economical, simple, yet impressive treats like these Chocolatey Christmas Trees.

While I was putting these together, I realized that getting the frosting just right on the outside of the Reese’s Cups was a bit of a challenge for me. I found that if I used my pastry brush to brush it evenly around the edge of the Reese’s cup it made the process a lot easier. Then, I rolled the edges in sprinkles. For the Hershey’s kiss topper, I did the same thing. I coated it in the green icing, and then we added the sprinkles. Then I just followed the rest of the instructions from the Value Seekers Club website.

These will make adorable classroom treats, easy gifts for your favorite secretary, or cute and edible decor for your Christmas party. Do you want to give this easy recipe a try? Then visit the Dollar Tree’s Value Seekers Club website for this recipe.

Even better~I’m giving away a $50 gift card to Dollar Tree! Enter to win a $50 gift card to Dollar Tree to get your holiday baking and crafting supplies!
