7 Favorite Healthy Beauty Products

After discovering Vitacost, a magical website stocked with tons of natural products, and beauty vloggers like vlogwithkendra, My Green Gypsy, lemusingsofmoi and pinksofoxy, I’ve been trying lots of new healthy products. By “healthy,” I mean products that are void of many of the chemicals that are ubiquitous in makeup and skincare items and products that are composed of natural and/or organic ingredients. I’m still a novice when it comes to the world of healthy beauty, but I’ve really been enjoying several products that I’ve purchased through Vitacost, Etsy and a handful of other retailers.

Here are seven of my favorites, along with purchasing information:

1: Ripe Coffee Lip Scrub: This product combines lots of amazing natural products, like coconut oil, shea butter and cocoa butter, along with coffee grounds and sugar to make a delicious scrub. I’ve sampled many a lip scrub and this one is by far my favorite! It’s been repackaged into convenient jars since I purchased mine, which makes it even better. (Available at Etsy for $5.25)

2: Mineral Fusion Blush in Pale: This is a gorgeous neutral blush that offers just a wash of luminous color. I love wearing it when my skin is redder than usual as this blush helps to neutralize my skin’s all-over appearance and doesn’t draw any attention to irritated areas. Plus, this blush is perfect for travel because it’s packaging is so slim. (Available at Derm Store for $21.99)

3: MyChelle Minerals Concealer Stick: Another great travel item, this concealer is convenient, compact and can conceal just about anything. I just it to cover red spots, blemishes and my under eye circles. Because it’s emollient, it works really well to cover up any dry patches that have gone red or blemishes that are dried out thanks to a medicated spot remover. Though it’s emollient, it doesn’t slide around on my face. Once I set it with powder, it remains in place and keeps me covered all day. (Available at Vitacost for $10.79)

4: Alba Botanica Hawaiian Deep Conditioning Minute Mask in Real Repair Cocoa Butter: I love this hair mask and it’s my go-to hair product during the long stretches I allow myself between haircuts (We’re talking eight months here!). It moisturizes my hair so well and adds oomph to dry ends and makes frizz disappear. Plus, it smells great! (Available at Vitacost for $6.29)

5: Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Hold & Shine Moisture Mist: This is another go-to hair product I use to combat dry ends and frizz. It nixes tangles quickly and adds a bit more moisture and shine to my hair. You can read more about it here. (Available at Drugstore.com for $7.99)

6: Derma E Refining Vitamin A and Glycolic Scrub: I love this scrub because it’s not too abrasive, but still gritty enough to whisk away dead skin and smooth dry patches. It’s become an integral part of my skincare routine and I use it one to two times a week to give my skin a fresh start. (Available at Ulta for $10.99)

7: MyChelle Dermaceuticals Sun Shield SPF 28: I wear sunscreen everyday (and you should too!) and this one is perfect for that, under makeup or alone. It’s lightweight, non-greasy formula makes it perfect for hot summer days. Most importantly, it doesn’t irritate my eyes, which is an important quality for any sunscreen. (Available at Vitacost for $16.00)
