Hey dolls! I was finally able to get some swatching done this weekend and I started with an awesome collection. The KBShimmer Early Summer 2014 collection features twelve shades, including three textured polishes, three cremes, and six holos. Today I have photos for you of the textured and creme polishes.

KBShimmer Let’s Not Coral is described as a pink leaning coral cream. The formula was great! It was thick, but in a good way, which made it extremely easy to apply. Let’s Not Coral was well pigmented and opaque in two coats.

KBShimmer Low and Be Bold is described as a bright, near ultramarine blue polish. This shade made me remember how much I love blues in the cobalt family. The formula was thinner than the other KBShimmer cremes, but not runny. It applied easily and was opaque in two coats. Low and Be Bold did not leave behind any stains upon removal.

KBShimmer Right as Reign is described as a deep indigo purple polish. This shade is reminiscent of what you see when a blue ink pen breaks. Depending on the light, you may see more of the blue or purple undertones. The formula was great and applied nicely in two coats.

Now onto the textured polishes. The finish of course is matte and they do feel rough to the touch. They were gritty, but not to the point to where they snagged on items. I definitely found myself rubbing on my nails throughout the day when I had one of these on. The formula was the same on each textured shade. They were very easy to use; the glitters were dense and dispersed nicely over the nail without having to do a lot of work. Two coats were used for opacity for each.

KBShimmer Partners in Lime is described as a textured polish with lime, aqua, and gold holographic glitters. This color is obnoxiously bright and I love it!

KBShimmer She Twerks Out is described as a bold aqua polish, featuring teal, lime, and violet holographic glitters. This is another really pretty one. I wore this shade for a few days and I didn’t start to see chips until around the end of day two.

KBShimmer Too Pop To Handle is described as a purple-toned fuchsia color, with violet, magenta and aqua holographic glitters. I love that this is a deeper shade of purple.

I wore Low and Be Bold over the weekend and I decided to extend the look another day by adding some simple nail art. You dolls know how I always lean on old faithful when it comes to nail art – tape and dots. Here’s the look using Partners in Lime, Nail Vinyls, and a large dotting tool. This also gives you a peek at what the textured polishes will look like with top coat.

Overall, I’m a fan of this portion of the collection. KBShimmer did a really great job with stepping into the textured category and developing a new look. The cremes, as with those in the spring collection, had great formulas and would be a good addition to anyone’s stash. The KBShimmer Early Summer 2014 collection is now available here. Each textured or holographic polish will retail for $8.75, while the creams will retail for just $7.50. Be sure to keep up with them on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for updates.
