Hey dolls! I’m by no means a fan of Halloween and you all haven’t really seen any typical Halloween manis from me. I guess it goes back to my childhood and how the holiday really wasn’t a big deal. I don’t have any memories of costumes and if we did anything it was either at church or a community center for a fall festival. I’m not much for pumpkins (unless it’s a Starbucks pumpkin spice latte), but I knew exactly what I would do for the Twinsie Tuesday Halloween theme. A couple of weeks ago, I discussed the Nailed Kit Halloween decals that were included in the POPSUGAR Must Have October box. I thought this would be the appropriate time to try them out.
I started with a base of Barielle Very Bare, a pale white with just a small touch of pink. I then added an accent of Barielle Joytini, a soft orange creme-jelly hybrid. After the base colors were dry, I chose the designs I wanted to use from the Nailed Kit. There were six decals for each design in three sizes. First, you have to cut out the decals. I recommend getting as close to the edges of the design as possible. Next, you place the decal facedown on your nail and adhere it using a wet cotton ball for 15 seconds, similar to how you would apply a temporary tattoo. It also worked to submerge the decal in water and then remove the paper backing. After the decals were on, they were sealed with top coat. I decided to go with a skittles look.
This is a very festive look that I’m sure Halloween fans will appreciate. These decals would be great for anyone looking for a really easy way to add nail art to their mani. I will say that the largest size decals are not that big. I recently had a bad side split and had to file my nails down. My nails beds are naturally very long and you can see that the full decals on the outer fingers don’t nearly cover the entire length. It would be even more blank space if my nails were at their regular length. These seem to work better for those with shorter nails or nail beds. Nailed Kits can be purchased here for $8 each. Be sure to check out the other festive Halloween looks for the other Twinsies below!
