Selfies: The Phone Cover

I mentioned the idea a little while ago, that perhaps it might be worthwhile if some firms tried to see which phones are the most popular by paging through the many selfies available on the Internet and doing an assessment. Now, thinking about it, I’m not so sure that it would work.

It’s not so much that there are many thousands of photographs out there, more the way in which the smart phones used are disguised. There is a growing industry in disguising which phone is being used, in making it more personal. I am told that, even before a new model comes out, there are companies which design back covers to enhance the appearance of what is otherwise a fairly boring, a mundane everyday object. And, let’s be honest, the smart phone is, today, an everyday thing, no longer a luxury, everyone seems to have one.

And while many may wish to concentrate on the person who is holding, who is taking the photograph – for some obscure reason – others can find solace in seeing their own, individual design held by someone else.

We have Hello Kitty, bird designs, colored designs, mosaics, shiny and matt, all sorts of wonderful additions, some of which even seem to fit with what a woman is wearing.

Well, maybe not all of them, and maybe some don’t really match with what we consider a person’s character to be. I mean, a hardcore dyke with Hello Kitty?

And the good thing about such covers is that the owners can change them according to their fashion taste, according to their needs on a particular occasion.

There is no need to buy a new phone every few weeks, although I am sure some people wish they could, wish they always had the latest, the most up-to-date, but monetary limitations abound, as do the number of startling original and fun designs for covers.

Much the same as the clothes we wear, those we get to see and those we allow other people to see. Not that anyone is concentrating on the small bit of technology here, or even wondering why it was picked.

Smart phones are just so ordinary today, we prefer to rest our eyes, allow our imagination to flow in directions previously unknown, upon other attributes.

Love & Kisses, Viki.
