By Johnny 2014 Inspired Nail Art Tutorial
One was of the most interesting collections at MBFWA this year was By Johnny. With fantastic colours and insanely wearable styles, white was prevalent and mixed with fantastic crisp colours and both geometric and organic patterns. The new By Johnny 2014 collection represented the Bright pastel trend at it’s best. Just the tonic for the approaching winter months.
Without doubt By Johnny was also the most nail-spirational show. I translated the pink and white dress (image below) into nail art which suited my Fashion Week outfit but the collection has also inspired a bunch of manicure ideas. Stand by for those!
These futuristic pink and white nails are quite easy to do. Just follow the nail art tutorial below!
YOU’LL NEED:
Thin striping nail art brush, opaque white polish, bright pastel pink polish, black polish and clear top coat.
HOW TO:
- Paint all nails in white until they’re 100% opaque. Without waiting for your nails to dry proceed to the next step.
- With bright pink polish, paint the pink details as pictured. It’s better if you paint each separate detail in one stroke. The lines will appear smoother and straighter.
- With black polish, outline the pink half circle details and add black connecting details from bottom to the top of nail. First paint the outlines and then fill in with black polish.
- Let your design to dry for 15 minutes. To avoid smudging, make sure the black polish is dry before applying the top coat. Then apply 2-3 coats of clear top coat to smooth the design. Clean up around cuticles if required and you’re done!
Used: Dance Legend Soft Pink 352, Essie Blanc, Isadora Black Lacquer 191 and Essie Good To Go top coat.
