How to Update a Half Moon Manicure in 2 Easy Steps
The Half Moon manicure is a timeless classic. Also, it’s the starting point of so much inspiration, I could easily come up with another 30 half moon based nail art designs. Today’s look is an easy one, that anyone can do – as long as you have a striping nail brush and know how to use it. Without further ado, here’s how you can update any half moon manicure in just 2 easy steps:
1. Add an extra detail to the half moon. In our case, it’s two lines forming a triangle starting at the base of your nail. If you need a step-by-step how-to for the half moon, follow this tutorial. As for the triangle detail, use a striping brush to draw the two lines. First, mark the spot where the two thin lines should meet and then starting at the edge of the half moon, paint two lines to form the triangle.
2. Use not-traditional colour combination for your design. Done in charcoal brown and soft gold colours, OPI Rollin’ In Cashmere and OPI Love is Hot and Coal from the OPI Gwen Stefani collection, this manicure is my take on the classic black and gold combo. Gold and brown is just as elegant, but slightly softer and can be even easily worn during the day. This is a perfect day to night nail design, mattify it to dress it down and apply an extra-glossy top coat to dress it up.
