10-Minute Paper Bag Nest

I love quick and easy crafts. Today’s project only takes scissors, glue, and a paper grocery bag to make up a simple spring nest. It’s a great kids’ craft! My daughter loved helping me with this one, and she’s been watching her nest all week checking to see if her chocolate eggs have hatched. I have no idea what she thinks might come out of there, but it’s been great entertainment for both of us and takes next to nothing for supplies.

What you will need:

  • Craft Glue (or a glue stick for littles)
  • Scissors
  • Grocery bag

First, cut a large circle. It doesn’t have to be exact. We used the large size circle for the nest that holds 5 eggs.

Then, cut your circle into a spiral. This also doesn’t need to be exact. Just enough to have a long, continuous piece of paper. Next, begin coiling it into the shape of a nest, adding dots of glue as you go.

You can glue another circle to the bottom of the nest if you want, but honestly – kids won’t care. Mine didn’t. By the time you add eggs, you won’t even know there’s a little hole down there.

Then, have the kids add some eggs, and they’re done! A bit of Easter basket grass or paper shreds would also make for a fun touch.

I’ve been thinking of popping some marshmallow peeps into the nest one of these mornings, just to see what my daughter thinks about marshmallow hatchlings. ;) Mmmmm… peeps.
