Making good choices

One of the hardest things to do while trying to eat healthier is giving into the temptation to eat out. Last night I think I proved to myself that I can eat out, eat healthy and still enjoy myself.

The boyfriend and I went to a place called Burgatory.

This place specializes in not only amazing burgers but milkshakes too. They have this awesome option to create your own burger which is the option I chose.

Trying to stay with my low carb diet, I chose to get a chicken sandwich– naked(no bun!!) with lots of veges on it! Instead of ordering fries or the customary homemade chips I chose to substitute that with their house salad which came with red wine vinaigrette. When I ordered it I wasn’t completely sold on the idea that I’d like the chicken because it can be very bland– but the chicken there was amazing and I was REALLY glad I made that choice for dinner.

I think the only part I was a little frustrated about was the fact that none of the food selections had calories (even on sparkpeople). That can be the most frustrating part. Especially because there can be hidden calories in all their foods– so when you think your making a healthy choice your really racking up more calories. I literally just saw an article about that on the ABC news right before I left for dinner.

Over all I was super glad I made the choices I did– hopefully these choices will show on the scale this week!!
