Stila 'One Step Illuminate'

This is one of the beauty products that I got for Christmas this year and now feel I have used it enough to review it.

This is Stila's highlighter that comes in the beautiful looking bottle. It was how different the product looked that first caught my eye, almost like DNA. The one thing that I am not sure on is Stila's logo and the way they use about three or four different fonts on the front of their packaging. Other than that, I love being able to see the product inside and the fact that it is all twisted and curled together.

I only own one other highlighter which I adore, Dior's Rose Diamond which I reviewed here last year. Because that was a powder and this a serum I was interested as to how it compare.

This is what it states on the back of the bottle:
"Swirl your way to a luminous, glowing complexion in one step! This innovative triple-swirled helix serum instantly illuminates, primes and nourishes the skin. One Step Illuminate improves skintone, evens out your complexion and helps smooth fine lines and wrinkles for complexion perfection! Stila's new One Step Illuminate's oil-free formula melts right into the skin and dries down, creating a gorgeous, illuminating glow. This revolutionary new formula contains three illuminating bronzers: Pale pink - warms the complexion Champagne - highlights the skin Kitten - brightens and illuminates"

I love the fact it has a pump. I am not a fan of having to squeeze bottle to try and get the product out, especially when you are coming to the end of it.

When you press the pump it mixes and releases the serum which looks like a warm brown colour against my skin.
When applied it creates a smooth but shimmery base to your skin, leaving it soft and definitely highlighted. Although it says about using this to prime your skin before applying make up, I think this product is a little too shimmery and I tend to just use this on my cheeks to brighten them up and then use the Dior Rose Diamond to highlight the rest of my face as normal.
This product costs £24 in Boots and although I do like the product, I don't feel it is something that is a staple and much prefer a powder based highlighter. You can view & purchase this product here.
