Lift Off
Life is such a funny thing.
I’ve had some of the best news (and purchase) of life this week, only to take one step back and lock myself out of my apartment.
I’ve been writing affirmations to myself in my iPhone reminders that pop up just when I seem to need it. You should really try it. I have 4 that pop up through out the day, and after I read them, I’m ready to take over the world–in my new Manolos (thank you, sample sale gawds).
I wish I could take credit for that but I’ve been working with an amazing life coach.
The affirmations, which seems so simple, have really changed the way I think of myself and in turn, carry myself. I don’t want to get all sappy, but the way the good news starting flowing right after I got in the groove of lifting myself up was really affirming.
Until I locked myself out of my apartment. For the second time.
The first time wasn’t so bad. I met my new super-cute neighbor. We exchanged numbers and sat on the fire escape together talking nail polish and music while I waited for the locksmith to let me in, until I realized that I could hear the music I was playing through my open window.
I climbed through the window and saved myself some money!

The second time I wasn’t so lucky. Let’s just say, I’m going to have a WALLET PHONE KEYS chant before I walk out of the door every day from now on. Word to Justine for the tip.
“Oh, so you just want to have all the adventures, hm?” the friend who was running back and forth to save me after I locked myself out said the second time he picked me up from the train station.
I sure do.
I’m saying yes to everything–but this time, I’ll remember to grab my keys first.
