Hello my little Spring buds! I’ve got Spring fever! All these awesome new collections have got me yearning for April showers and May flowers. :)
Today I have China Glaze’s City Flourish Collection for Spring. I couldn’t wait one more second to post this collection. I fell in love the moment I saw bottle shots! This collection comes in 2 sets, Peonies & Park Ave & Pollen In Love (how cute is that?!)
First things first, set one; Peonies & Park Ave.
“Spring In My Step” is a pretty baby pink creme. Pretty nice formula! Opaque and even in 2 coats.
“In A Lily Bit” is a super pale lilac. I love this color! I don’t think I have anything like it in my stash! 2 coats.
“Petal To The Metal” is a bright coral that borders on neon. It even dried satiny like a neon. Lovely! 2 coats with top coat.
“Peonies & Park Ave” is a blue toned neon pink. Great coverage and formula. I never get tired of neon pinks. 2 coats with top coat.
Now onto the second set; Pollen In Love!
“At Vase Value” is a sweet pale blue that’s really close to being a pale robin’s egg. LOVE LOVE LOVE this. I can’t even tell you how much I love it. 3 coats!
“Metro Pollen-tin” is a yellow marigold creme that dries with a satin finish. This one was a little more troublesome than the others. It requires just a bit more babying. To me it was worth it because I don’t have any other colors like this in my stash. This is really pretty and perfect for Spring. 3 coats with top coat.
“Grass Is Lime Greener” is a bright lime green. It’s the exact color of a green apple laffy taffy. Another one I’m in love with. This also is a little bit streaky but it evens out well in 3 coats. And the color makes it allllll worth it!
“Thistle Do Nicely” is a gorgeously bright, eye-searing neon pink with more red tones than blue and dries with a satin finish. The formula on this one is excellent. I did in 2 coats with top coat.
“Strike A Rose” is a coral/rose colored creme with a silver microshimmer. This one is a little thick in good way. Just make sure you wait a good amount of time in between coats to prevent dragging. 2 coats.
“What A Pansy” is a purple toned periwinkle creme. Beautifullll! A polish that makes you ooh and aah! Really great and easy to use formula. 2 coats.
The formula on these was really similar to the Sunsational Collection from last year which I didn’t find to be too troublesome. Yes they required a bit of extra care but it wasn’t a big problem in my opinion. I know that a lot of other people didn’t like the formula. Some people even said they hated it and would never use the polish because of that. Maybe I’m a weirdo but just like the Sunsationals, I really didn’t mind the formulas on these. And the colors are so pretty that a little extra time and effort makes it worth it for me. I did use a ridge-filling base coat under all of these colors which I think helps a great deal with problem polishes. I’m saying this because I was in the minority with the Sunsationals and maybe I am in the minority with these as well… it remains to be seen. But please proceed with caution. Like I said… I LOVE THESE… I can’t stress it enough!
Here are a few things I believe helped me with application:
I hope if you guys buy these you enjoy them as much as I do! And I hope my application tips will help you as well! This collection is going to be my jam this Spring!
China Glaze can be purchased at tons of different places including Ulta, Sally Beauty, Transdesign and lots of other retailers and E-tailers.
UPDATE: As more reviews of this collection start to trickle in, I highly suggest looking at other reviews before purchasing. I’ve read a couple reviews now and they had some real issues with this collection so don’t take my word for it exclusively. Like I said, I might be a crazy person for liking these. :)
*Neons are a pain to photograph! Some of these photos have been slightly color corrected in order to show them as color accurate as possible.
