Creating an Art Collage About You

Creating an art collage can be a great pre-writing activity for all ages, and don’t forget that teens can benefit from hands-on activities, too! (Click to tweet!) My teen sons especially enjoy creating collages from found objects. This activity can be used to explore a theme or even to “report” on a book.
What is an art collage?
A collage is a form of mixed-media art in which pieces are combined to express an idea or theme. Pieces can be cut out of magazines, newspapers, photographs, or even other artwork, and can also include materials such as fabric, wood, metal, and items from nature.
