A funny thing . . . .

Before this whole parenting thing I assumed all changes would come gradually, as I have actually parented I realize how wrong I was with that thought.
Things change all the time, in fact Ray and I were laughing that there are times Avery wakes up from a nap considerably smarter than when she went down. These changes are slap you in face "my baby is growing up" moments.
Two weeks ago we went to visit our friends, The Booths. I have posted all kinds of pictures in here about them before and occasionally Avery will bring Sarah (my friend) or Elizabeth (her daughter) up in conversation.
So that day was Elizabeth's 5th birthday party and it was a princess theme and all the girls got toy tiaras and jewelry and dressed up. It was a good time. At the end of the night Logan (Sarah's son) who is almost 2 hit Avery. It made her cry, but it wasn't overly traumatic or anything. Then about a half an hour later she stole his toy and then he hit her and she hit him back. It went back and forth once more and then I broke it up. We had them hug each other later and say sorry.

(They have been friends for a long time)
On the car ride home that night Avery was recounting the day and said "Logan hit me"
She said it like 10 times. Each time we tried to talk about how it hurt her and her feelings and how she should remember that and not to do it to other kids. And we reminder her that she hit Logan as well.
The next day on the ride to Grandma's we hear her talking to herself in the backseat Logan hit me I hit Loan I hugged Logan
This has gone on for two weeks and she is just so stuck to this memory, even though she doesn't normally talk about things in the past.
I just had to jot this down and see if anyone else a 2 year old that does this? It is just too funny.
