Yellow Themed First Communion Styled Photoshoot!

When it comes to First Communions, it’s such a special event in a young person’s life. Many of these types of parties are done in a soft pastel colors, but the stylist for this photoshoot, Tania of Tania Fischer Design, was looking to make this styled shoot bold and bright! Therefore, because it’s the season of First Communions, she decided to do a Yellow Themed First Communion Styled Photoshoot! First Communions should have happy and bright colors, which is why yellow was chosen. It’s also a fashion trend color for this Spring, too, and it gives a great touch of excitement while looking forward to the warm days ahead!

Setup and styling was done by Tania Fischer Designs and Roni from Roni Sugar Creations. Photography was by Maria Healey. The styled photoshoot was held outdoors and the item that was “center stage” for the event was definitely the flower backdrop (which is a great DIY Project!). The flowers started anywhere from a 5 inch diameter and went all the way up to 20 inches in diameter! FYI – Generally, this type of backdrop takes around 25-30 flowers. Look for the DIY Flower tutorial on how to make these yourself coming up soon on Pretty My Party! Tania also has printables available in her store!

Desserts were inspired by the printables, invitation and poster designed by Tania Fischer Designs. Delicate baby’s breath inspired this with a yellow background. Candy Crush Events on Etsy had amazing table linens that matched perfect to the color scheme, too!

Speaking of desserts, they beautifully covered the main table, courtesy of Roni from Roni Sugar Creations. As usual, she did an amazing job and it was perfectly color coordinated for the event. They were picture-perfect and looked absolutely amazing! There were pretzels covered in chocolate, macaroons, Oreos covered with chocolate, popcorn with candy, chips with chocolate, cupcakes, hand-decorated cookies and … of course … the gorgeous cake!

Candy-covered apples were also on-hand for the dessert table! Yum!

Roni also made cake balls with flowers that were made out of rice-paper, which was edible and were beautifully presented! And look at those perfect cookies!

Upon completion, Tania looked back and definitely had some highlights and favorites from the photoshoot. “The flower backdrop, handmade, decorated cookies, and the cake are my favorites. The giant flowers will be huge this spring to summer for many different types of events. And the cake? The cake is BEAUTIFUL, yet simple at the same time. The cake stand we found was the perfect fit for it all (courtesy of Clay A Go Go). Finally, Natsweets, on Etsy, really made my printables come to life on those cookies … wow! I loved it!,” Tania said.

There were also a couple of pint-sized adorable models on hand to show off some accessories that would be a great addition on the day of a First Communion. The little boy’s bow tie is courtesy of Baby Glam Accessories, while the amazing headpiece can be found at Happy Annie.

Finally, small party favors were made as an example for this type of event. They were candy rosaries made with bubble gum for the beads and a sugar cookie cross on the end. How unique and adorable!
