Let's Crochet: Daisies

Daisies are perhaps some of the sweetest flowers around. They are so cheerful! I was in the need of bunches of daisies for an amazing project I had in mind, and so I decided to create a pattern and crochet some of my own.
I'll be sharing my fun daisy project on the blog soon, but first let's make some flowers for it, shall we?!!
HERE'S THE HOW TO:
Stuff You'll Need:

Yellow worsted weight yarn // Crochet Hook US Size I White fingering weight yarn // Crochet Hook US Size D

Daisy Crochet Pattern:

To make the flower center, using yellow worsted weight yarn:
Rnd 1: Make a magic loop, 4 sc into magic loop, Sl st into first sc. (Counts as a total of 5 stitches: 4 sc 1 Sl st = 5)
Rnd 2: Ch1, sc in first stitch, sc next 4 stitches, Sl st into first stitch (Counts as a total of 6 stitches: 5 sc 1 Sl st = 6)
Tie off yarn and weave in ends.

Here is a photo of what the center should look like. I pushed the center out a little bit to give it some extra dimension:

To make the outer petals, using white super fine/fingering yarn:
Sl st in back loop of any stitch in flower center, *ch 10, sl st in back loop of same stitch, ch 10 sl stitch in back loop of same stitch (Two petals made in same stitch), Sl st in next sc*, repeat from * * 5 more times. (A total of 12 petals made in back loops only. No need to tie off, just continue to the inner petal directions below.)


This photo shows how I started making the outer petals. You can see that I worked two petals in the back loop of the crochet stitch.

Here is the completed round of outer petals. Two petals were worked in each stitch for a total of 12 petals:

Now, we'll make the row of inner petals (You will work these in front of the previous row of outer petals):
Sl st in front loop of first stitch in flower center, *Ch 10, sl st in front loop of same stitch, ch 10 sl stitch in front loop of same stitch (Two petals made in same stitch), Sl st in next stitch*, repeat from * * 5 more times. (A total of 12 petals made in front loops only.) Tie off yarn and weave in ends.

Here you can see I'm now working in the front loop in front of the previous row of outer petals:

Now, I'm halfway done. Just three more front loops to work in!

Ta-dah! Here's the finished flower!
