Week(end) Rewind 27.04.14

It’s been an eventful week. Inky proved the adage that “caring is sharing” by passing on a feral head-cold. But did it stop me from partying? HELL NO. As if. I never pretended I was sane.

Last night I was privileged to attend a mate’s house concert out in Ringwood (yep, it’s all happening in Ringwood). My favourite Alt Country Folk Indie muso EVER, Renee was playing with the stunningly talented Jess McAvoy. If you haven’t checked out Jess’s music, do it—heart wrenching and beautiful. It was an intimate concert for 20 in another mate’s lounge room, lit by candles, empty wine bottles and happy faces.

Chortle.

Every Song starts with a Story. Every door is an exit.

The lighting was an audience’s dream (not so much a photographers’)

Heartfelt

I had belated birthday drinks at one of my favourite local bars, Kitty Somerset in Northcote. They do a most marvellous Espresso Martini. The sort of caffeinated shit that can keep you up for days. Birthday MADNESS. Everyone needs a posse of ladies to share bevvies with.

With my favourite Alt Country Folk Indie artist.

Inky started dance lessons. We ditched gymnastics in favour of a dance studio that looked like a legion of fairies had emptied their guts of pink fairy dust, rainbows and frills. It was blinding. I still can’t see properly. Perhaps Husbando will take her next week.

ALL THE PINK.

AND SOME MORE PINK JUST IN CASE YOU DIDN’T GET ENOUGH OF IT THE FIRST TIME.

Inky started guitar lessons. Ha, no not really. We are into encouraging our kids’ musical aspirations, even when the 3 year old is channelling Johnny Rotten, making strange faces and negotiating 6 figure deals with her “manager”.

“So, whaddya say we do Coachella next year? Too soon?”
