WiP Wednesday: With Guest Host Inés from Thready Bear Quilts

Hey guys! It's Inés from Thready Bear Quilts!

Is it Wednesday already? Wasn't it here last week? It seems I never get done as much as I hope... Oh well! I am so excited to be guest hosting WIP Wednesday; it has always been a great motivator. Without further ado, let's begin:

I began the week by wanting to work on my Alma Mater quilt, but that didn't go well. First, my fabric didn't cover the space needed (I'm paper piecing this quilt for those who don't know), so I had to rip it out. Which sounds easy enough; that is if you can find at least one of your 5 billion seam rippers, which of course I couldn't. I decided to push on and used embroidery scissors to painstakingly rip the tiny paper piecing stitches. That left me in a grumpy mood, but I wanted to finish at least one letter that night.
Well, as I often say, "The best laid schemes of mice and men often go awry." I realized after two sets of stitching on my second try that I had reversed my colors. Combined with my grumpy mood and lack of a seam ripper, I stomped off, leaving that mess as is to this day.

This week I decided to start my 30s Farm Quilt. I started by making Lori Holt's Silo Barn with a Chicken Scratch block.
I am so excited for this quilt! I am truly a farm girl at heart and this idea has been buzzing in my head for a long time—I'm so glad it's free!

The Chicken Scratch block is so cute and I love the practically a bazillion (not really, just 20) itty bitty half-square triangles. They make me so happy!
I can't wait to see how my quilt turns out! I also can't wait to see what you guys are working on; you never cease to amaze me with your creativity and talent. Yes, I'm talking to you! So, hop to it and link up!

Before I go, curious minds are wondering if you press open or to the dark side (and if you are on the dark side, do they really have cookies?!?)?

I am wishy-washy when it comes to pressing. I like the look of open seams but I learned to press to the dark side, so I never know what I'll do. Head on over to my Den and let me know! Or you can let me know on Instagram, @threadybear or #threadybearquilts! I hope to hear from you soon, and happy quilting!
