A Halloween Spooktacular at citibabes!

It’s Halloween!

Don’t worry, there won’t be any spookiness today on the blog because, well, let’s face it. I’m a scaredy cat!

I will share about the wonderful time I had at the Halloween Spooktacular at Citibabes located in downtown Manhattan. Choosing costumes this year wasn’t as easy as last year, I made the crazy decision to access a costumes website and let my eldest son pick what he wanted to be…that was a disaster because he wanted to be EVERYTHING. It went a little something like this:

Me: Oh look! You can be Batman!

Him: YES! I LOVE BATMAN!!!!!

Me: Or maybe Superman?

Him: YES SUPERMANNNNNN!

Me: Olaf?

HIM: YES MOMMY PLEASE let me be Olaf!

Me: Oh boy.

The way we decided his costume fate was simple. I told my 2 year old he was going to be a minion for Halloween and he was SO excited! My oldest then got jealous, crossed his arms and pouted because he wanted to be a minion too. Bingo. We have two minions!

Citibabes Halloween Spooktacular

What is Citibabes? According to their website:

Citibabes is the only family membership club offering best-in-class education, amenities, information, and fun for both children and adults. Our SoHo club offers a 1,500 square foot indoor playspace, a full array of classes, preschool, a tumbling playroom, fitness gym and studio, birthday parties, childcare, ongoing family events, workshops, seminars, Junior’s Fresh family friendly cafe and juice bar, and more! Simply put, Citibabes is the ultimate resource for modern families.

This was my second time to this facility but the first time with the boys so I absolutely knew they were going to LOVE it! When we arrived the first thing my eldest ran to do was–you guessed it–arts and crafts. My best friend and his Godmommy came to hang out with us as well.

For some reason the baby wanted to hang out in the under 2 room, he was all over the Fred Flinstone cars and all of the other colorful toys. He stayed in there for a long time and just explored!

There were so many activities like professional photos of the kids, spooky stories, arts and crafts, cupcake making and more. There was even live entertainment and he sang one of the kids most favorite songs ever–Katy Perry’s “Roar”!

The Jungle gym was pretty awesome too, while my youngest wanted to spend the most time in the room the eldest spent a great amount of time jumping and climbing in this really cool indoor play yard filled with plenty of activities to keep them occupied!

I love Citibabes because there aren’t a lot of places to take younger children in our area where they can just be free to be kids. I love that the space caters to smaller children. My favorite part of the entire facility was located in the back. There was an additional playroom but this one had rock climbing! Both boys had never done this before but they didn’t hesitate (in true boy nature) to rise to the occasion! I was even shocked that the little guy jumped up there too!

Although that was their only Halloween type event of the season they both had fun and enjoyed being minions for a day!

What are your kids’ costumes? Do you love the horror in Halloween or are you a scaredy cat like me? How many Halloween events did you take your kids to this year?
