Fitness Class Adventures: BYKLYN Spin Event – #DoItForTheRide

When my girl and fellow A Healthy U Conference co-founder Cass told me she was hosting a Spin Event at one of the hottest Cycling facilities in Brooklyn, I didn’t even hesitate to say YES! Plus it was a 90s themed ride?! Yes please because I am forever stuck in the land of 90s tunes, the music of today can’t compare!!

We would be taking a class at BYKLYN located in Park Slope. Since it was super close to the trains I was able to leave after work and get there in 20 minutes from Times Square. It’s no secret that spin comes as natural for me as Zumba does. I can spin all day long and never get tired of it.

What made it even more awesome was that a lot of my favorite blogger girls were present too, even some that don’t necessarily like to exercise! It was all good though because we are all there to have fun!

We got fitted for our spin shoes and it was time to ride! Even though I was set to make my epic Zumba return the very next morning I gave it all I had. Some of the songs featured: “Real Love” by Mary J. Blige, “Push It” by Salt and Pepa, and yes the original “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix A Lot. There was also a lot of old school reggae that made my Jamerican self VERY happy.

The class was crazy intense but it flew by SO fast! Before you knew it we had been spinning for 40 minutes and it was time for the arm workout. I completely underestimated this one–we had two 2lb weight but my arms weren’t ready. They were burning and out of commission after 15 minutes! It hurt so bad good!

The class was fantastic and I can’t wait to go back! BYKLYN offers many different combo classes including mashups of spinning/bootcamp, spinning/yoga etc. they also offer straight cycling classes at a reasonable price compared to other boutique spinning facilities at $26 per class.

Thank you Cass for the invitation–I had a great time!! I was a sweaty mess post class and I can’t wait to go back.
