The Moss Hawk

Having swung and missed with Dungeon Braids on Sarah, I decided to give her a mohawk with moss instead. It seemed appropriate, given that there happened to be moss and lichen dripping from the trees all around us at that particular point in time. And, she feels like she has a tiny head (we all have our thing) and it seemed right to bulk it up with fluffy plants. Also, I had given Reggie a Flower Hawk earlier that day and was feeling generally hawk inspired, so I went with it.

A strip of ponytails, braided, deconstructed and pinned into messy buns down the back of her head made the hawk. The moss added volume, color and texture. I literally peeled it off trees, wadded it up, and bobby pinned it along either side of the bun hawk.

Then, at the end, I pinned moss into her pit hair because it seemed like the right thing to do. ‘Go with it’ was my mantra for the Moss Hawk. Because sometimes things don’t make any practical sense on one hand, but on the other hand make perfect sense. And that is all the more reason to do them.

Go with it, xo, HTHG
