Oatmeal Bath Fizzies

After Christmas I always like to check out store clearance aisles. It’s kind of a tradition for me and my husband. We pick out a nice gift set and “splurge” on it when it’s 75% off! So anyway, this year I chose a gift basket with some shower supplies included. I really just wanted the basket, so I bought it but got rid of most of the shower stuff. I didn’t care for the scent (or the chemicals). Since we switched all of our cleaners to all-natural products, my nose just can’t handle the fake stuff!

My boys were totally intrigued by the bath fizzies in the set, so I decided to make them a safer all-natural version.

Oatmeal Bath Fizzies!

2 Cups Baking Soda

1 Cup Citric Acid

1/2 Cup Oatmeal (blended until fine)

1 Tbsp Bee Pollen

10-12 drops of Essential Oil and/or contents of 1-2 Tea Bags

1 1/2-2 ounces Witch Hazel (in a spray bottle)

In a large bowl, combine all dry ingredients. Mix well to reduce any clumps. Add essential oil (we used Lavender) and slowly combine Witch Hazel a few sprays at a time. Continue adding and mixing until the mixture begins to clump slightly. Be careful not to add too much or it will start to fizz and ruin the batch. Press firmly into silicone molds or muffin cups. Leave room for the mixture to expand. Let set for at least 4 hours or until completely dry. Yields 12 bath fizzies. (muffin cup size)

And by the way…THIS is what happens if you over fill the mold or muffin cups you are using! They really do expand to about twice their original size!

Bath time is a big hit around here when bath fizzies are involved! Blessings! ~Kelly
