It's always fun to create a cocktail that evokes a treasured memory. This summer, my husband Todd and I took a little mini anniversary trip to Kansas City and had one of the best meals of our life. We tried a few of the most delicious sounding cocktails and resolved to recreate a few of them once we got home. It only took a few hours of turning our kitchen into a cocktail lab before we figured out our own delicious version. Ready to make your own?
Lemonberry Martini, serves one
• Cranberry juice
• Lemon
• Citron vodka
• Elderflower liqueur
Pour 2 ounces of cranberry juice, 1 ounce elderflower liqueur, and 1 ounce citron vodka into a cocktail shaker with ice. Juice one lemon and add 1 ounce of lemon juice into the shaker (add a little less if you want your drink to be a little less tart). Give your cocktail a good shake and pour into a martini glass. Enjoy!
I love the fresh citrus flavor in this cocktail. It's light and not too sweet which makes it a perfect cocktail for ringing in the new year. Here's to 2014, cheers! xo-Laura
