NEW YORK TIPS

So you probably noticed I went to New York for the first time and absolutely loved it. I shared a lot of fun events and pictures and now I even envy myself There’s just something about this noisy city – where everyone’s super duper friendly might I add. Just in case you’re also planning on visiting NYC I made a little list of things I’ve done and loved! Make sure to bookmark this page in case you’re going to the Big Apple yourself.

Get a New York Pass

Get more bang for your buck by buying a New York Pass. You can check on their website which one is best for your stay. There’s loads of things I did with this card; like renting a bike, visiting a museum, going on a boat tour or visiting tourist attractions. I calculated what I saved when I got home and it was about 50%! It’s also a nice excuse to try out something new, since you’ve got that pass anyway!

Eat at the Meatball Shop

You got that right. This vegetarian is advertising a place called the Meatball Shop. So I have no idea what the actual meatballs tast like, but the veggie balls sure were tasty! The fun thing about this little restaurant is that you can decide whether you just want the meatballs as a snack or create your own meal. You can choose a base, like pasta, rice or fries and then add your fave sauce and veggies. The Meatball Shop is a restaurant chain, so you’ll definitely run into one! I combined this with going to the Highline.

Walk the Highline

The Highline is a really cool walking route, situated on an old railway track. It’s above ground, which gives you an opportunity to see some cool street views. You’ll be walking past skyscrapers and there’s loads of street art to be seen, which makes this into an awesome experience. The Highline wasn’t completely finished when I was there, so I can only imagine how awesome the finalized version will be. You can get off the route whenever you want to browse around the cool neighbourhood it’s in!

Go on Top Of The Rock at sunset

That view ^^^^ need I say more? Seriously, this may seem like a typically tourist thing to do, but you’ll be so happy you did it once you’re up there. This is definitely one of the best views you’ll see in the City. Try to go up there around sunset like I did to get those amazing shots.

Rent a bike

You’ll be walking around loads, so it’s nice to give your feet a rest and bike instead. It’s really cool to experience the city in a different way, even if you don’t like biking. We rented bikes twice: on the Brooklyn Bridge and in Central Park. Central Park is quite big and this is a quicker way of getting around the park. The Brooklyn Bridge is smaller, but I absolutely loved biking while seeing the skyline approach.

Visit Coney Island

I would definitely recommend this if you’re staying in New York for a while. The train ride to Coney Island is about 45 minutes, so you probably don’t want to plan to many activities on that day. There’s loads of rollercoasters if that’s your thing, but you can also take a stroll down the boulevard. The whole retro kitsch feel of this place definitely makes it one of a kind.

That’s all folks!

I’m sure I’ll be back, hopefully sooner than later! I fell in love with the city and can’t wait to get to know it even better. For now I’m leaving you with loads of pictures and posts to look at.
