Bobbi Brown Surf & Sand Collection.

I was lucky enough to receive the gorgeous new Bobbi Brown collection last week, and I’ve been swooning over it ever since. Bobbi Brown do holiday collections like no other; there is always a palette that goes straight on my wishlist and a lipstick I covet for weeks. The Surf & Sand collection is no exception, and while it didn’t make me look like Kate Upton, I definitely loved the minimal shimmer combined with the coral lipstick.

First up, we need to talk about that perfect palette; the Bobbi Brown Surf & Sand Eye Palette (£48) is just about all I need from life. I wear soft shimmery champagne hues all over my lids on a daily basis, so I knew I would adore this palette. The eight shades all vary but they’re completely blendable and work perfectly with each other, I prefer cooler tones on my eyes and I think this offers a good mix of neutrals and cool tones. I tend to mix together the top left shade which is a delicate satin, almost-matte shade that works well as a base, and the second shade down on the right – this is more my kinda shade, it’s a light almost bronzey shimmer that really enhances my eyes. I think this is probably my favourite shade as it offers just enough shimmer.
I take a thinner brush and smudge a little of the smokey hues in to my lower lashes – I usually use a mix of the bottom right shade (a cool, matte chocolate brown) and the third shade down on the left, which is a cool matte taupe. I love this shade, so easy to blend and very striking without looking overdone, I sometimes sweep this over my lid for a bit of a dramatic result.
This is a palette that is so versatile that it can be used for just about any look – day, evening, smoked up or casual no-fuss makeup like mine and even bridal. It’s just perfect if you’re a nude lover.

I also swept on a little of the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Eye Pencil in Black Chocolate (£18), a limited edition release for the collection. I used this smudged in to my top lashes for a bit of definition – the shade is perfect for me as I usually find black liners too harsh, but this has those chocolate undertones to offset the black. I’m really impressed with this formula, it’s so creamy, easy to apply and blends perfectly.

On my cheeks is the Bobbi Brown Surf & Sand Brightening Blush-Bronze (£34), I wasn’t sure if I would like this as I’m not really a bronzed cheek kinda girl – I’ll wear it all over for a bit of colour but I usually stick to blush on my cheeks. As it happens, it’s beautifully minimal and looks completely gorgeous – the shimmer evens out the tone of the skin and adds a touch of beautiful radiance, and the bronze/blush mix adds some colour. The result is awakened, dewy skin every time. How pretty?!

Finally, I slicked on my current favourite lip product – the Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Colour in Pink Taffy (£19.50), a lovely dewy soft coral that looks at home on my lips. I’m always so effortless with my lips so I love that this is super minimal. The soft shimmer plumps the lips and the moisturising formula works wonders on my dry lips. I’ll definitely be snapping up more of these shades.
