Disappointing Products.

I noticed my last post on the products that didn’t quite make the cut was a hit, so I thought it was time to collect up another lot of ‘not so loved’ beauty items for round two. I have to admit that picking products for this post was some mission, I just got rid of so much stuff over the weekend and I don’t tend to hang on to anything I don’t like so I had to really raid the cupboards!

The first of two bases I don’t rate so highly is the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (£35.50) – I am almost certain I am the only person that doesn’t like this stuff! I’ve been hanging on to it for a year now in the hope I will change my mind, but I know it’s time to let go. I wouldn’t say I have oily skin, I don’t often get a too-shiny complexion (it usually translates as a dewy glow, which I can get along with just fine) but with this foundation, my makeup looks like one big oil slick. It just doesn’t sit at all, makes my complexion look shiny and it sits on top of my skin. I’ve tried it in autumn, winter, spring and now summer and I can’t make it happen, I’m afraid.
Despite being a massive Erborian fan, I wasn’t all that keen on their cult product the Erborian BB Creme Au Ginseng (£15) – I am obsessed with it’s CC counterpart which is harder to get hold of (typical) but the BB Cream just wasn’t for me. It doesn’t really match my skin tone (there’s only the one shade), it doesn’t add much in terms of coverage nor does it last well on my skin. It’s the only product I’ve tried from Erborian that I haven’t agreed with, sadly.

Next on my list of ‘didn’t loves’ is the Revlon Colourstay Gel Liner (£8.99) which I thought was just terrible. The brush was a mission to get out of the lid, the product was too hard to apply and it didn’t last on my eyes at all. I don’t even think I gave this a second chance as it just ruined my makeup first time around. It’s likely to be me and my wobbly, eyeliner-novice hands but I wasn’t a fan.

Finally, the Bumble and bumble Grooming Creme (£22.50) – this is absolutely the only Bumble product I’ve not been obsessed with. I gave it a whirl and at first I liked it, I think because my hair was longer back then, but with my short hair it just doesn’t work so well – I think it’s a little heavy and weighs down my fine locks. I think it’s probably better suited at boys or those with thicker hair as I couldn’t make it work in mine. I’ve handed it over to boyfriend who seems pleased with it.

Have you tried any of these products?
