5 Things: The Travel Bucketlist.

I started making a travel bucketlist and realised that it had no ending, so think of this as a shortened version of the places I want to visit most in the world. I’ve never made a bucketlist before – a list of things to do before you peg it – it’s really quite morbid isn’t it? Nevermind, this will cheer you up…

01. Greece.
I was going to be more specific here and say perhaps Mykonos or Santorini but honestly, I would happily take anything going. Greece looks like the ultimate place for a week away from the world, and I’m really not sure why I haven’t visited yet. Those insanely blue waters and all the little houses on the hills – gaaddammit someone fund my trip.
I think this will be my next holiday destination, I need to lap up that sun and wave goodbye to my pasty limbs. That’s Mykonos in the top left there by the way, isn’t it heavenly? *packs bags, leaves with Mouse*

02. New York
Oh, so typical – I blame years of Gossip Girl binges. There’s not a female out there that doesn’t want to head to New York, I get all weirdly anxious and excited when I catch a glance at even a picture of the city so I’ll probably pie it with excitement if I ever do go. Imagine that?
I think I would just get so panicky, because I would want to do everything and never sleep, except that I love sleeping – it’s probably best if I just stay at home if I’m being honest with myself.
Seriously though, I would shop so much, eat so much… it would be divine. I remember reading Lindsey Kelk’s ‘I Heart New York’ a few years ago and since then visiting the city has been a firm fixture on my ‘to do’ list. One day, when I win the lottery (which will come after I buy a lottery ticket).

03. Fiji
I think Fiji might actually be paradise. Can anyone confirm or deny? My parents went here for their honeymoon, since it’s not too far from New Zealand, and I’ve always wanted to visit. It looks so serene and so exotic – basically the opposite of Scotland in just about every way possible. I would sleep in the overwater lagoon huts (maybe, looks a bit questionable really. Are they safe? What about at high tide? How do you even reach them?), visit the Garden of Eden (steering clear of any fruit, forbidden or otherwise) and go snorkelling with my fish friends. Dreamy!

04. Scandinavia
Okay, cheating again… what can I say, I am not a team player. Seriously though, if you’re going to go to one, may as well visit them all, amiright canigetahellyeah. My brother works around these waters a lot so I see daily snaps of mostly Norway and Denmark, with a bit of Sweden thrown in.
I would go to Norway to see Pulpit Rock (there’s a lift, right?), stockpile on cute Instagram pictures in Aarhus in Denmark and go over the Øresund Bridge to Sweden and pillage their clothing stores. Oh, and go to Moomin World in Finland, naturally. Who’s on board?

05. Dubai
Dubai is one of those places that I don’t think I’ll believe exists, until I see it for myself. I know we have Google and all, but it just doesn’t seem real. I would love to just spend a week or two here, taking it all in. Have a dip in the world’s largest swimming pool and go up the tallest building, oh and see the Palm Islands and visit some of their insane shopping malls. I reckon I could live there for a month before anyone noticed.
Like New Yoiik, Dubai just seems so full on with so much to do!

What’s on your travel bucketlist?
