Kate La Vie

Bobbi Brown Smokey Nude Collection.

If there’s one beauty release to get excited about, it a Bobbi Brown neutrals collection. The brand churn them out quite regularly, yet I get the all too familiar ‘need that’ feeling every time.

The latest ‘Smokey Nudes’ collection is no exception, despite it being a rather small roundup all in all, the three products have my Autumn makeup bag sorted. Think a mix of warm and cool, matte and shimmer eyeshadows that complete every look, and nude lipsticks that are just about all I need from life!
Let me get started on that pretty palette; the Smokey Nude Palette (£48) comes in the most divine packaging – it’s the typical black and white box with a difference; a simple marbled design that just has me swooning! The palette itself is the standard size (I think it’s about the same as the box for their powders, for example) but it extends out to reveal eight autumn-inspired hues. There’s a couple of lighter shades that are more my kinda thing, and also a number of darker colours to complete the look. I tend to blend them together to tailor a look for me, usually using the a mix of the two lighter shades all over before smoking it up with some of the darker, more gothic hues. The palette is hugely versatile so it’s unbelievably easy to look like a makeup pro when you’re using it.

Also here is the Bobbi Brown Sandstone Shimmer Brick (£32.50), a limited edition lovely which also comes in that same beautiful packaging. I am a huge fan of the shimmer bricks, having had the bronzy version in the past, so I already knew we would get along just fine! It adds just the right amount of shimmer to my pasty complexion, and really brings the skin to life. I hate disturbing something so pretty, but it’s too good not to use.

Finally, allow me to rave about these nude lipsticks – I think I’ve found a new daily staple, despite not really being a lipstick kinda girl! The brand have released four new Creamy Matte Lipstick shades (£19.50) for the season; there’s Nude, Soft Nude, Pink Nude and Warm Nude – I’m wearing Pink Nude, which is a super flattering almost peachy colour. They’re all gorgeous and the formula is just as creamy as they tell ya – meaning even my dry lips are nourished! Win.
