Home Projects For 2015.

I said that 2015 was the year I get fruity with my decor, I think I’ve been quite reserved up until now… maybe. I feel like the time has come to get out the colour, turn things around and generally make this place look like something off Pinterest…

Dark Painted Floors
We currently have white floorboards in our bedroom and my office – I have to say I do love them, especially in my office as the light is amazing for photography – although they need re-doing in here – but I’m thinking about painting the floors dark in our bedroom. When we bought the place, the floors in here were dark blue. I shit you not. Dark blue. We hastily painted them white as it’s too much of a job to get them sanded and varnished back to wood, although this would be my preference. I am thinking about painting the floors a dark grey until then – a change from white, but still super rich and homely. I’m not entirely sold on the idea just yet (I think I would feel sad saying goodbye to white floors!) but I have big plans for this room. (Pin)

Half Painted Walls
I keep talking about this, but I really want to do it! Again, this is a bedroom project – I think we would have to make a decision about the floors first, but I’d love to go for a warm colour, or perhaps a lovely grey/lilac shade. The room is very, very white at the moment so it’s needed – I love pops of colour but I feel like if I went for a nice teal/emerald then I might just get sick of it. Only time will tell. Source.

A New Kitchen
I keep talking about my kitchen, but it’s definitely a room I want to change almost completely. This kitchen is pretty much what I’m aiming for, but probably with stained dark floorboards – it looks so bright and sunny, and just… perfect. We have white cabinets at present, but I want to change the whole layout of the room – there’s quite a lot of space to work with so I think we could make it so nice. Keep dreaming huh…

A Mural!
Okay I’m planning on going paint crazy next year, but I really want a mural! Our flat has really high ceilings and sometimes the walls look pretty bare. I’m hinting to Glasgow girls Little Book Transfers, hopefully a cactus or pineapple themed mural will be coming my way soon. Above is a mural they did in my friend Tammy’s office, I’m in love with it!

I’ll definitely be chucking out most of my white furniture and opting for more wood, and also adding in a whole lot more greenery in the coming months. I can’t wait to see how this place looks in a year!

What do you think of my ideas?!
