Celebrating the Sunshine With Malibu Cocktails

It’s warm(ish) and sunny in London right now, which has totally got me in the mood for summer. And the luscious weather has been timed perfectly to coincide with Malibu Rum’s new limited edition bottle, which was created by fashion designer Sera Ulger.

The bottle was inspired by the “true essence of happiness and summer with its bold, expressive, colourful and energetic design”. It’s so pretty I wish I had a bar cart to display it on. Although, to be honest, if I actually had any room for a bar cart I’d rather dedicate the space shoe storage, but that’s a whole different story…

Anyway, over the weekend I had a little play around in the kitchen and whipped up a few Malibu cocktails for some friends. Ting-Aling and Mali-Woo were the most popular recipes, so I’ve included the details below.

Mali-Woo: 50ml Malibu Rum, 75ml cranberry juice, ice and lime (with sugar on the glass for effect – not salt)

Ting-Aling: 50ml Malibu Rum, 25ml Ting, ice and lime

I also did a Q&A with Sera Ulger a few weeks ago, and this is what she had to say about the bottle and the exclusive ready-to-wear capsule collection she designed to coincide with the launch. Take a look:

Are you a fan of Malibu Rum cocktails? And do you like the Sera Ulger bottle design? As always, leave a comment and let me know. And remember to drink responsibly ladies and gentleman…
