My Style: Dressing Up a Navy Knit

Rummage through the back of your wardrobe and you’ll probably stumble upon the following long-forgotten items: a “classic” little black dress you bought but never wore (tags still on), jeans that no longer fit, expensive heels you “had to have” that now sit gathering dust, some form of beach cover-up from a vacation you took years ago, and a navy sweater.

Seeing as these items weren’t important enough for you to remember in the first place it would be wise to donate them to charity or sell them on eBay. But keep the navy knit. Even if it’s looking a little bit worse for wear it will still bring you some joy. I love rediscovering my merino wool Uniqlo sweater every September – it may be old and slightly shapeless, but it’s cosy, familiar and easy to style.

I’m Wearing: Uniqlo knit | H&M skirt c/o (similar style at ASOS) | Karen Millen clutch c/o | Shoes in my own design (similar shape at J.Crew) | Necklace past season at Claire’s (similar at Shopbop)

I’ll be wearing my navy knit a lot this season, because it’s the perfect companion for my new H&M trumpet skirt. Yes, that’s right, this spectacular skirt is from H&M, and it costs £29.99! Honestly, if I didn’t know better I would think it was by Roksanda or DVF. And I won’t at all surprised if we see the statement design all over the front row at London Fashion Week.

Do you rate my navy knit and trumpet skirt look? Is this a style you would wear? As always, leave a comment and let me know…
